Banham Academy Achieves Strong Ofsted Rating

Banham Academy is proud to have been awarded a 'Strong Standard' rating in most areas in its recent February 2026 Ofsted inspection - recognition that reflects the quality, care and expertise at the heart of Banham*. 

Inspectors praised the Academy's inclusive culture, noting that every apprentice receives the tailored support needed to thrive in the highly technical fire and security systems sector. This approach embodies the values that define Banham: family, pride and trust. 

 

Industry-Led Training

The leadership team continues to shape an ambitious, industry-focused curriculum, supported by tutors recognised for their deep sector knowledge. Apprentices gain essential certifications early and develop a professional, compliance-led mindset from day one. Recent expansions into Derby and Essex also extend high-quality training to more employers and learners across the UK. 

 

A Trusted Talent Pipeline

Ofsted highlighted the strength of the Academy's delivery, from expert technical teaching to the reliable development of site-ready apprentices creating a talent pipeline the industry can depend on. 

 

An Environment Where Talent Is Nurtured

Head of Banham Academy Kevin Faulkner said, "This recognition is a testament to the team's expertise and the care they show every apprentice. We're proud that Ofsted felt the family values that sit at the heart of Banham." Inspectors noted that apprentices including female apprentices "feel very welcome...as part of the Banham family."

 

Looking Ahead

As one of the first independent training providers assessed under Ofsted's new framework, this result marks a significant milestone in Banham Group's centenary year. The Academy remains focused on continuous improvement, with a drive to increase the number of Distinction outcomes and uphold its reputation for excellence across the industry.
